Rick Warren Quotes
"You were created to become like Christ."
"The bible says that all people, not just believers,
possess part of the image of God; that is why murder and abortion are
wrong."
"God does not want you to become a Go; he wants
you to become godly - taking on his values, attitudes, and charachter."
"God's ultimate goal for your life on earth is not
comfort, but character development. He wants you to grow up spiritually
and become like Christ."
"Why is this happening to me? Why am I having such
a difficult time? One answer is that life is supposed to be difficult!
It's what enables us to grow. Remember, earth is not heaven!"
\"Never forget that life is not about you! You exist
for God's purposes, not vise versa."
"God uses his Word, people and circumstances to
mold us. All three are indispensible for character development. God's
word provides the truth we need to grow, God's people providethe support
we need to grow, and circumstances provide the environment we need to
grow."
"He (God) usually prefers to work through people
rather than perform miracles, so that we will depend on each other for
fellowship."
"Becoming like Christ is a long, slow process of
growth."
"Much confusion in the Christian life comes from
ignoring the simple truth that God is far more interested in building
your character than he is anything else."
"God is far more interested in what you are than
who you are."
"We are human beings, not human doings."
"God is much more concerned about your character
than your career, because you will take your character into eternity,
but not your career."
"Jesus did not die on the cross just so we could
live comfortable, well adjusted lives. His purpose is far deeper: He wants
to make us like himself before he takes us to heaven. This is our greatest
privilege, our immediate responsibility, and our ultimate destiny."
Booker T Washington Quotes
"At that
institution I got my first taste of what it meant to live a life of unselfishness,
my first knowledge of the fact that the happiest individuals are those
who do the most to make others useful and happy."
"How often
I wanted to say to the white students that they lift themselves up in
proportion as they help to lift others, and the more unfortunate the race,
and the lower in scale of civilization, the more does one raise one's
self by giving assistance."
"My experience
has been that the time to test a true gentleman is to observe him when
he is in contact with individuals of a race that is less fortunate than
his own."
"My experience
is that there is something in human nature, which always makes an individual
recognize and reward merit, no matter under what colour of skin merit
is found."
"I have
found, too, that it is the visible, the tangible, that goes a long ways
in softening prejudices."
"The actual
sight of a first-class house that a Negro has built is ten times more
potent than pages of discussion about a house that he ought to build,
or perhaps could build."
"The individual
who can do something that the world wants done will, in the end, make
his way regardless of his race."
"But gradually,
by patience and hard work, we brought order out of chaos, just as will
be true of any problem if we stick to it with patience and wisdom and
earnest effort."
"As I look
back now over that part of our struggle, I am glad that we had it. I am
glad that we endured all those discomforts and inconveniences. I am glad
that our students had to dig out the place for their kitchen and dining
room. I am glad that out first boarding-place was in that dismal, ill-lighted,
and damp basement. Had we started in a fine, attractive, convenient room,
I fear we would have "lost our heads" and become "stuck
up".It means a great deal, I think, to start off on a foundation
which one has made for one's self."
"I learned
the lesson that great men cultivate love, and that only little men chersh
a spirit of hatred."
"I learned
that assistance given to the weak makes the one who gives it strong: and
that oppression of the unfortunate makes one weak."
"The wrong to
the Negro is temporary, but to the morals of the white man the injury
is permanent."
"Few things
help an individual more than to place responsibilty upon him, and
to let him know that you trust him."
"With God's
help, I believe that I have completely rid myself of any ill feeling toward
the Southern white man for any wrong that he may have inflicted upon my
race. I am made to feel just as happy now when I am rendering service
to Southern white men as when the service is rendered to a member of my
own race. I pity from the bottom of my heart any Individual who is unfortunate
as to get into the habit of holding race prejudice."
The Matrix - Emails from liberals regarding the content
of the site
Do you all have nothing better do do . Keep on preaching
your stupid Religious beliefs ,you are already killing one and another
in America. I hope you all don't get rich doing this stupid stuff. But
I forgot in America everybody get's rich by Lawsuits for dumbass shit.
I just wanted to thank you for your tireless efforts to
prove so thoroughly and definitively that right wingers are born with
their head their ass. You explain it with every word so much better than
anyone on your list of 100 Liberals (several of whom are close friends
and associates of mine) could ever do. - Indeed you do demonstrate that
my great-grand-uncle, a close advisor to President Truman for 30 years,
was entirely right when he told me "The only 'good Republicans' are pushing
up daisies."
Sieg Heil, Mother!@cker!!! X.X. Clxxver
I wish I was famous so I could have the honor to make it to your liberal
hall of shame with the following comment: George Bush and Dick Cheney
are blood-for- oil war criminals who should be impeached and thrown in
prison. Neoconservatives like John Negroponte and William Kristal and
other members of the Project for a New American Century should join them.
Additionally, they should be prosecuted for their roll in the September
11th attacks, for we all know that September 11th was and inside job,
created by the neo-cons and collaborated by the neo-liberals to justify
invasions of Middle-Eastern countries.
I love most of the people of the liberal hall of fame. I've
got to complement you on your ability to separate the good people of the
world (liberal hall of shame people) with the douche bags (Rush Limbaugh
and other perverted neo- Christian, neo-fascist, neo-conservative types).
Way to go!
Thanks to Howard Stern I found your site. Your writing makes me realize
how many morons there are in the land of the free. You and bush deserve
each other being of similar mental capacity. So do you also do coke and
pot?
Perhaps you should take what little effort you put into
this nonsensical blog offshoot and direct it towards community action?
All you're doing is regurgitating bias to which no one actually ascribes
and making a fool out of the dozens of people who follow the 'commentary'
on your site.
