Liberal Hall of Shame
The Top 1000 Liberals in America

WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama's advertising team is getting some friendly competition from film pros with some Oscar clout like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

"The spirit of the contest is to put into video form what it is that you think will help push Obama over the top," said Iliyse Hogue, the campaign director for MoveOn.org Political Action. "It's a great thing for aspiring ad makers and film makers who want to participate in a meaningful way."

Participants in the "Obama in 30 Seconds" contest will have until April 1 to submit their entries. MoveOn members, which the organization places at 3.2 million people, will be able to vote on their favorites by watching them on the MoveOn Web site. The top 15 entries will then be judged by a panel of liberal activists, recording artists and Hollywood notables.

Among them will be Affleck and Damon, both Academy Award-winning actors and writers. Also judging will be actor Steve Buscemi, film director Oliver Stone, singer songwriters Moby, Eddie Vedder and John Legend, civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and hip-hop entrepreneur Russell Simmons.

Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard said he wants to convince voters that the Bush administration has been reckless in its foreign policy since Sept. 11. "For me, personally, I very much want John Kerry to win," Gossard said in an interview. "I think that he's expressed an interest in re-engaging the world community and saying the last administration is not representative of the way America wants to do business with the world."

Vedder actively campaigned for Green Party candidate Ralph Nader in the past. This time he's tossing some trash at GW. The group's new album, "Riot Act," contains a spoken-word ditty called "Bush Leaguer." The lyrics attack the president in a less than impressive manner. "He's not a leader/ he's a Texas leaguer. … Drilling for fear/ makes the job simple/ born on third, thinks he got a triple."

MoveOn PAC is excited to announce the Vote for Change concert tour. Vote for Change is a loose coalition of musicians brought together by a single idea — the need to make a change in the direction of our country. We share a belief that this is the most important election of our lifetime. We are fighting for a government that is open, rational, just and progressive.

"We have an opportunity to change the direction our country is headed and to elect a government that is just, rational and respectful of the views and rights of the people it serves," said Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam.

Artists participating in Vote for Change have merged their energies and talents to focus on states that are expected to have the closest race in the presidential election this fall. This unprecedented effort will include approximately 40 shows in 30 cities in 9 battleground states over the course of 10 days.

We'll certainly never buy another Bruce Springsteen CD or concert ticket. It's estimated the tour he and other Bush-hating rockers are launching could raise $44 million for John "Atrocities" Kerry.

Oh, but these stars don't care quite as much about the poor as they do about their beloved admitted war criminal. The average ticket could cost $58.71, USA Today reported. Some seats will cost hundreds of dollars. Others on the Guilty White Liberals' tour include Pearl Jam, the dreaded Dixie Chicks, Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt and - he's still alive? - Jackson Browne.
