I would have loved for someone from the audience to ask McCain to his
face if he sincerely believes Obama "pals around with terrorists" or
wants to "attack our own country." And if not, why does he allow that
to be said in his name? When Sarah Palin works up a crowd with "Obama
doesn't see the same America we do" to the point that and a guy yells
out, "Kill him," and she -- to the best of my knowledge -- says nothing
to quell the sentiment -- where is the sense of shame? How is fueling
hatred and racial stereotype and appealing to the very worst in all
of us -- how is that putting "country first?"

I thought Biden was fantastic. He's obviously more than qualified to
be vice president. And president. And more than several hundred times
more qualified than his opponent.
Aren't we blessed to have so many likeable people running for office?
Now let's get serious, get Obama/Biden in the White House and get to
work.

Moving right along, Kerry raised money with some big Dems
at a sprawling beachside hacienda in La Jolla yesterday, including recalled
Gov. Gray Davis and his wife Sharon. Other big names under the big top
were former Secretary of State and L.A. lawyer Warren Christopher; former
Carter adviser Midge Costanza; and Lynn Schenk, former San Diego congresswoman
and former Davis chief of staff.
But the real stars came out later Tuesday at a Beverly Hills
fund-raiser, held at Ron Burkle's 50,000-square-foot mansion known as
"The Green Acres" estate. Singer James Taylor entertained and Kerry earned
an estimated $2 million to $2.5 million for the campaign.
