Joined by the lead singer of Everclear, U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden urged students to pull their political weight at a Get-Out-The-Vote rally at the EMU Amphitheater Wednesday afternoon. "Are going to sit this one out?" said the Oregon Democrat, who is running for re-election on the Nov. 3. "Next Wednesday when you wake up, I don't want you to have to wake up and find that you have politicians who don't care about you." Alexakis took issues seriously when he did campaign work for Michael Dukakis' 1988 presidential campaign and Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. Wyden, Alexakis rock the vote
Alexakis has also been politically active. He was a delegate for the 2004 Democratic National Convention representing Portland, Oregon's 3rd congressional district after campaigning for John Edwards during the 2004 Democratic Presidential primaries.
