And there will be plenty of those tonight as showbiz types gather in Los Angeles, New York and, of course, Chicago to watch final election returns and celebrate various candidates coming into power.

The biggest event in L.A., slated to start as polls close in California, is a bash at the Century Plaza Hotel co-hosted by Obama’s California campaign staff and the California Democratic Party. With over 10,000 RSVPs accepted by midday Tuesday, the party touted several boldfaced names on the invitation, including Sarah Silverman, Pierce Brosnan, Amy Smart, Peter Fonda, Zooey Deschanel, Alan Ladd Jr., and Richard and Lauren Shuler Donner.
