Many Democrats are calling for Donald Rumsfeld to resign as the Secretary of Defense because of the abuse and mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners. Yet- these same Democrats plan to vote for John Kerry for President- who in his own words has admitted to committing war crimes during the Vietnam War. Democrats defend Kerry's actions by saying that it occurred more than 30 years ago. Is this a valid defense? If you follow this logic, then you must excuse the atrocities of Nazi war criminals because their acts occurred so long ago? Should we then also excuse the acts of killers that commit murders more than 30 years ago? If this is so, we would then have to free the likes of Charles Manson and David Berkowitz (Son of Sam). As a result of his admission to committing war crimes, John Kerry should do the honorable thing and resign from the Senate and give up his bid to become the President of the United States. Time does not absolve those that commit atrocities.
