The correct answer is both. However- if you could only be one… That is a question that goes back to the beginning of time. The answer depends on your objective. What is the objective that you are wishing to accomplish? Do you need a minor task completed or is it a life changing event…The destiny of a person? If your objective is to get others to accomplish a minor task… fear and not love is the greater motivator. Think of your work or your family. The fear of being fired or the punishment of a parent is a far greater motivator for doing a simple task than love for a superior. A child loves his mother, but fear will get them to take out the trash. However - in times of a life changing event or destiny... People will abandon those they fear. Would you alter your destiny for someone you feared? However, love will make a man willingly lay down his life for his country, family and God. It is greater to be feared in minor things and it is greater to be loved when it deals with someone's destiny. This answer can be proven… God is both loved and feared. However - we
are the opposite of God and relating to your salvation (destiny) it is
far greater to fear God than to love God. Fear of God will take you to
Heaven more than love of God. But love of God will motivate you in your
daily works for Him.
