Maher's comments about Vice President Cheney and Rosie O'Donnell's comments
about captured terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed only reflect shallow logic
of liberalism Rosie O'Donnell stated regarding the captured terrorist- "They've been treating them like animals … they have hoods over their heads, they torture them on a daily basis," This is the problem with liberalism. Liberals only look at specific acts. They look at things in a vacuum as if events are not connected or have no consequences. Here is an example of flawed liberal logic when analyzing a specific event. When it comes to tax cuts- liberals believe that a 10% tax cut means 10% less revenue for the government. This is how liberals view tax cuts. However- when you lower taxes- people have more money to spend. It is 10% more money in your pocket and when you spend money- more taxes are generated. This is why President Bush's tax cuts have generated the most revenue ever in the history of the United States. Don't believe me? Think about it- if you have 10% more money to spend - you may decide to buy a car. Sales tax is generated when you buy a car and the salesman also receives a commission. The salesman pays income tax on the commission and then with his commission he may celebrate by purchasing something himself. Well- the next salesman also gets a commission and pays more taxes. There is a multiplier effect. It is true- however liberals only see the tax cut. Liberals are not very intelligent!!!!!!! Back to Maher's comments. What if Saddam remained in power and subsequently started another war? He had previously started two wars. One war with Iran that killed over one million people on each side. What if eventually Saddam obtained an atomic bomb and killed millions in that war? I would have to say then that Vice President Dick Cheney saved millions of lives. However- Maher only looks at one specific event- that people have died in removing Saddam Hussein from power. Now to Rosie's comments. What if the tactics that were used on the captured terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed were done to gain information to stop a terror attack and save lives? Rosie only looks at the treatment of this one terrorist that admitted to planning an event that killed 3,000 Americans. Rosie's allegations on the surface about his treatment - were not true. However- lets say that they were. I bet that if a child predator had kidnapped Rosie's children and the predators partner - who knew the location of the children was captured by police that she would have a different attitude about the predator's treatment if her children were being molested and their lives were at stake. I bet that if tough interrogation methods were used to save her children - Rosie wouldn't be too upset. However- like Maher- Rosie looks at one specific event. Liberals are just not very intelligent!!!!!!! What if we used this liberal logic with everything? When police attempt to capture criminals sometimes innocent people are hurt or killed. Using liberal logic- looking at one specific event - more people would live if the police did not go after criminals. Do we stop chasing criminals? If we stopped chasing criminals there would only be more crime and also more innocent people would be hurt or killed. When terrorists or kidnappers demand ransom - the authorities do not pay. If the hostage is killed- according to liberal logic - we would look at this one specific event and say that we should have paid the ransom! However- if we paid ransoms to kidnappers - it would only lead to more kidnappings. Do you get it now - the shallow logic of liberalism? Written by Thomas
