Liberalism means
Uninformed
Ask someone that you know who the two Senators are that represent their
state. Ask someone to name half of the Supreme Court Justices or who the
Director of Homeland Security is. Ask Someone to name the Speaker of the
House. More than likely they won't know half the answers. Please understand
that Americans are the most intelligent, industrious and hard working
people in the world. However- most Americans are too busy in their daily
lives working, raising children, paying taxes and paying bills to take
the time to fully understand the issues facing America today. And if that
is the case- than most Americans certainly don't know that the ACLU is
suing to remove a cross from the Los Angeles County seal or understand
the divide between conservatives and liberals on partial birth abortion.
It has been proven that most people read the headline of an article or
the first few lines and then stop. Liberalism thrives and relies on the
fact that most people are to busy to stay informed on the major issues
that influence their lives.
Let me give you an example. If you ask someone if there should be time limits on receiving welfare benefits - the majority of Americans would say yes. However- more than 90% of Democrats voted against welfare reform in 1996. At that time, Democrats called Republicans mean spirited and cold hearted for supporting welfare reform. They said that Republicans only cared about the rich and that they wanted to throw the old and poor out in the street to starve. If you ask the average person who doesn't follow politics closely- they would more than likely agree with this characterization of Republicans. However- if you ask those same people if there should be time limits on receiving welfare benefits - the majority would say yes. They would agree with conservatives.
Liberals use spin and catch phrases knowing that people will remember one liners such as - conservatives only care about the rich. Please note that the liberal media had a hand in this- because for decades they just reported liberal propaganda whether it was true or not. During the 2000 election recount, Joe Lieberman provided one of the most graphic examples of how liberals advance their cause. As the recount battle intensified, Lieberman made the statement that everyone should just go about their daily business. That everyone should go back to work or go home and the recount would be resolved shortly. He wanted people to hear Al Gore's mantra of count every vote. However, he did not want people to know that the recount involved hand counting in three highly Democratic counties. He also did not want people top know that any disputed ballot was to be decided by a Democrat. Liberals thrive on ignorance and liberalism's survival depends upon it.
I could give more examples such as drilling for oil in Alaska, partial
birth abortions or raising taxes. However- one last example will clearly
illustrate how liberals wish for masses to stay uniformed. It is the protest
of liberals of Fox News. Liberal views permeate CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR,
LA Times, NY Times...... Liberals have dominated the mainstream media
for nearly 50 years. Now they are starting their own liberal radio network
and news channel. However, they are outraged over one network- Fox News.
Liberals have called it everything from a propaganda machine for the Bush
administration to a right wing news network. They have done everything
possible to try and discredit Fox News. However- in a very short time
it has become the dominant cable news channel in America. It proves that
when people are given a choice they reject liberalism. and that is the
reason that liberal radio networks fail and why liberals favor the Fairness
Doctrine. The main stream survived for so long because people were never
given a choice. Liberalism was the only choice.
The truth is that people tend to be more conservative than liberal. Only a small minority - the extremists (the far left radicals) believe in the liberal philosophy of partial birth abortion, high taxes, unlimited welfare, if it feels good do it, that Christianity should be removed from society or that bashing America is patriotic. Most people don't believe in these philosophies- they are just uninformed. Examples- the youth of society that have no knowledge of taxes, raising families or competing in the marketplace. The millions of people that don't watch the news, go to church or are too busy with life to follow the issues..... The fact is that the majority of Americans that vote for liberal politicians are just uninformed about the issues.
