It is the reaction to the Swift Boat ads that is hurting
Democrats Here are the facts- not with respect to the allegations against Kerry's military service, but to the liberal spin surrounding this issue. 1. Liberals say that President Bush is behind the Swift Boat ads because his supporters are funding the ads. Well- does anyone reading this believe that the people supporting John Kerry are going to fund these ads? The same people that support Moveon.org are the same people that support John Kerry. Does this mean that John Kerry's behind the Moveon.org ads? This is an allegation of misconduct without any proof and just plain hypocrisy. 2. Liberals say President Bush does not want to talk about the issues and that is the reason the Swift Boat ads were created. In his acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, John Kerry spent less than 2 minutes talking about his record in the Senate. Kerry's own website has questioned President Bush's National Guard Service. People from Michael Moore to DNC Chairman Terry McAuliff have called President Bush a deserter. Kerry has a twenty year liberal voting record in the Senate and that is what the Kerry campaign does not want to talk about. 3. Liberals say the Swift Boat Veterans are spreading lies about John Kerry and the ads should be stopped and the veterans silenced. Please note that these are the same people that defend Linda Ronstadt, Michael Moore and the liberal Hollywood elite's right to slander President Bush without any eyewitness accounts, facts or proof. These people have called the President a thug, gang leader, suggested he started a war for oil and also to avenge his father. These are the same people that never said a word for a year when 527 groups like Moveon.org ran all types of ads against President Bush. By all accounts liberal 527 groups have spent more than 30 times the money in ads against President Bush than 527 groups have spent against Kerry. However- now liberals and Kerry are outraged. 4. Articles in major newspapers are condemning the Swift Boat ads. As previously noted, over the past year liberal 527 groups have spent more than 30 times what the Swift Boat veterans have spent. Where are the articles questioning the validity of the liberal ads run by these groups. 5. Liberals are calling on President Bush to have the ads stopped. President Bush can have no affiliation with any 527 Groups- that is the law. He has no legal ground to get involved with these groups. If President Bush got involved with these groups- this would be a violation of the law. Only a liberal could make such an argument. On the surface it is just plain ridiculous. 6. Liberals point to the fact that an attorney named Ginsberg worked for President Bush and also represented the Swift Boat Vets as proof of a conflict of interest. Please be advised there are numerous lawyers tied to the Kerry campaign and also 527 groups that support him. You will not hear this in the mainstream media, but you will heart it on cable news. 7. The letter that Max Cleland attempted to deliver to President Bush stated, "a slander against one soldier is a slander against all soldiers". Are you kidding- the whole Vietnam controversy surrounding Kerry is that he slandered all soldiers. 8. The Kerry campaign attacks the messenger of the news, but does not respond to the allegations. This is an old liberal tactic that was used especially well during the Clinton administration. Remember how they attacked Paula Jones, Ginnifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky....... Please note that as it turned out- they were telling the truth. How can any fair minded person read the above and not come to the conclusion that the Kerry campaign is misrepresenting the facts? The most fascinating aspect to this is that liberals are going on cable news shows and stating all of the above while someone rebuts what they say. It is like they don't even realize that that they are on a cable news show and people can hear the opposing argument. They act as if it is ten years ago and they are just telling their spin to a news organization and it will just be reported without any rebuttal. This is proof that liberals do not live in reality and this is hurting the Kerry campaign more than the Swift Boat ads themselves. Written by Thomas
