The easiest way to illustrate this point is to watch a baseball game. The broadcast announcers of the local sports team root for that team. The Chicago Cubs announcers root for the Cubs. The Atlanta Braves announcers root for the Braves. The Chicago White Sox announcers root for the White Sox. This does not mean the announcers cannot give a fair representation of the game. The announcers say when their own player makes an error and they praise the other teams good plays and good players- however- in the end they want their team to win. What if Harry Carey at the end of Cubs games screamed in joy Cubs lose! Cubs lose! Cubs lose! Do you think he would have been so beloved? The problem with the liberal media is that they do not like President Bush. They do not wish to see him succeed. If the war in Iraq succeeds- President Bush succeeds. If President Bush's policies succeed- he succeeds. As a result- their reports are biased. Listen to the rhetoric from Democratic politicians over the past two years. It has bordered on giving comfort to the enemy. Well- the liberal media has mirrored much of this sentiment. The New York Times ran close to 50 front page stories on Abu Ghraib. Could you imagine watching your favorite baseball team and the team's announcer continually bashing that team and rooting for the team to lose? What do you think would happen? If there was another station to watch the game- you would probably switch channels.. The announcer might even lose his job. Americans want accurate reporting- but they don't want the media rooting or supporting the enemy and that is the reason that the ratings of liberal media outlets is in sharp decline.
