The brilliance of the war in Iraq Please note that is precisely what is taking place in Iraq. It has become the central battleground for the war on terror. Of course - this does not favor the people in Iraq. However- what was the alternative? Saddam Hussein- killed hundreds of thousands of his own people. Do you know what gets lost in this entire debate? Saddam started a war with Iran in the 1980's that killed over 1 million Iraq and Iran soldiers on each side. He then invaded Kuwait- his soldiers raped and killed people there. He gave money to the homicide bomber' families of Palestinians. The conditions in some providences in Iraq right now are very dangerous- but the majority are not. Please note that during his rule- Saddam killed millions. Liberals that decry the war in Iraq now- never said a word when the people of Iraq were dying under Saddam's rule in greater numbers! The people dying now are dying for the cause of freedom- under Saddam's rule- what did they die for? There has been a lot of talk about invading Iraq under trumped up charges regarding weapons of mass destruction. The mass media has completely distorted this issue. Here is an analogy. If the police raided the home of a major drug dealer - however- if by the time the police arrived the drug dealer flushed the drugs down the toilet- does it mean there were no drugs? Saddam used chemical weapons against his own people. There is video evidence that reflects this. Saddam had chemical weapons and he used them! Here is another analogy- if Jim Jones survived the mass suicide in Guyana- and the then dumped the poison down a hole- does it that there was no poison? Does it mean that if we invaded his Jonestown compound after the fact and found no stockpile of poison that there was none? Critics of the war say we have no business in Iraq or that we should do something about North Korea and Iran. Well- these same people say we should do something about the AIDS crises in Africa. If we have no business in Iraq- then we should have no business in Africa. Please note that America donates billions to help the AIDS crises in Africa. Also- please note that the leader of North Korea (Kim Jung II) did not start any wars- as Saddam had. The leader of Iran (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) was not president when the Iraq War took place. Saddam backed up his threats by starting two wars, using chemical weapons on his people and torturing his own people. We were proactive with Iraq- it is too bad for the millions of Jews that were murdered in World War II that a proactive approach was not used to stop Adolf Hitler. And to those who are upset about the military deaths in Iraq. Please
note that there have been more than 3,000 military deaths in Iraq in three
years. This total does not even come close to the deaths of soldiers in

Did you know that in the city of Philadelphia with a population of 1,517,550-
there were 400 murders in 2006? The population of Iraq is 25,000,00- if
Philadelphia were the size of Iraq- it would translate to 6,400 murders.
If you apply the same logic that Democrats are using in Iraq - the answer
to solving the murders in Philadelphia would be to pull out the police
and defund them. This is wrong- the answer would be to bring in an overwhelming
force to clean up crime the city- not retreat! To understand how political the anti-war left has become you must understand that if liberals were really concerned about saving lives they would be taking up other causes. If they really wanted to save lives- they would do something in reference to making the driving conditions safer in America. During the 3 years of the Iraq War- just over 3,000 soldiers have died. However- during that same period over 120,000 Americans died in car accidents. An emergency hospital room on a Saturday night looks no different than hospital battlefield. Please note that these people dying in car accidents are dying for the privilege of driving a car and the soldiers are dying for the right of freedom. Which of those two causes would you rather die for?
Now it is not to say that the war could have been run even better. America has been trying to fight a politically correct campaign instead of using overwhelming force. President Bush's only fault is that he remains loyal to his generals. He should have replaced General John Abizaid a long time ago. Liberals also have a great deal of responsibility as to why we have had to fight such a politically correct war and not had greater success. The liberal media only reports the bad news in Iraq. To understand the liberal media and know how they work - all you have to do is look here at home. The liberal media is quick to condemn the police when they rough up a criminal. Yet that criminal is usually disobeying an order by the police to surrender. When a policeman stops a suspected criminal and tells them to put their hands up - it is to protect the police officer. All it takes is for the criminal to turn around and shoot and the police officer would be killed. 143 police officers were killed in the line of duty in 2006. Please note that in 2006 there were 56 executions of criminals. Who do liberals defend? They defend the criminals and make villians of the police. It is the same thing that they do to the military in Iraq. Lastly- the war in Iraq is paralleled by a war against President Bush by the mainstream liberal media and liberal politicians. Their hatred for President Bush and conservatives is so great that it seems that liberals are on the same side as the terrorists- wanting America to lose the Iraq War and weaken America. If you want to know the truth- the war in Iraq is over- Saddam is out of power, he was brought to justice and a democratically elected government is in power. It is now a freedom and peace keeping mission. I read an article reflecting that the number of military deaths during the Clinton administration were 1,245 in 1993; 1,109 in 1994, 1,055 in 1995, 1,008 in 1996. That is a total of 4,417 deaths during peacetime. I read another article by a liberal challenging these facts that stated that their were 1,000 more deaths during the first term of the Bush administration than the first term of the Clinton Administration. Please note that during President Bush's first term- he fought two wars! No matter how you compare these numbers- the war in Iraq has been fought with amazing brilliance. This is fact and history will treat it as so! The truth is that Democrats (liberals) want America to leave Iraq - because they know that failure in Iraq will place a stain on legacy of George W.
